Patricia Sharon Rooks, 83, of New Haven, Indiana, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2026, at her home. After her diagnosis of cancer and given a year left to live, she defied the odds and fought on for six more years. As she liked to tell her doctors she was "one tough broad". She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Sid and Karen Rooks; children Steve and daughter-in-law Sally, Rich, Jayne, Jennifer and grandchildren Tim, Stephanie and Jon. She was an avid crafter who loved to quilt and crochet blankets that were treasured gifts to family and friends. Gardening became a late in life passion that she devoted many hours learning to become more proficient in. British mysteries and crime solving shows were her favorite things to watch on television and the family dogs Chloe and Zoe were often found watching with her. She will be greatly missed.
