She earned a master’s in education and was a Kindergarten Teacher at East Allen Co. School for 36 years and retired in 1987.
She was a member of Forest Park United Methodist Church, Fort Wayne and Indiana IRTA, former President of the Shriners Widowed Club, Fort Wayne Chapter of OES, Teti Sherri #60, A.A.U.W. Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority, and Daughter of the Niles.
She is survived by her daughters Jill Szyarto of Elkhart, IN; Sally (Marvin) Teegarden of Fort Wayne, IN; grandson Jeffrey (Mindy) Szyarto of Elkhart, IN; Kara (Cade) Pellegrin of King George, VA; great grandchildren, Cecily, Laurel and Marin Pellegrin and Owen Szyarto. She is also survived by her cousins, Linda Mullins of Crawfordsville, IN; and Harry Lee Johnson of Oklahoma.
Patsy was preceded in death by her husband William “Bill” E. Hinkle 1990, son in law, Stephan Szyarto.
There will be an Eastern Star service beginning at 1:00 pm on Wednesday October 14, 2026, at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave. with the funeral service immediately following. Visitation is one hour prior to the service.
Committal and Burial will be 11:00 am Thursday October 15, 2026, at IOOF Cemetery 2225 Lincoln Blvd. Marion IN 46953.
