Pauline “Polly” Butz, 90, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home on October 11, 2026. She was born on March 6, 1936, in Dewitt, Kentucky, to the late Oliver and Carrie (Hubbard) Hensley.
Polly found joy in life’s simple pleasures and cherished the time she spent with those she loved. She especially enjoyed golfing alongside her beloved husband, Ted, and the two traveled across the country together, combining their love of golf with the adventure of exploring new places. At home, Polly found comfort and happiness in watching the birds gather at her yard’s feeders, tending to her beautiful flowers, and surrounding herself with her many butterfly decorations, which reflected her appreciation for nature and its beauty.
Another area of Polly’s life that brought her comfort was her relationship with God. A longtime member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, Polly found peace in her heart through her strong faith.
Polly’s memory will be treasured by her children, Ben Lowe, Bonnie (John) Hites, Brenda Bowers, and Debra Neeld; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren, who will carry her love and legacy forward for generations to come.
In addition to her parents, Polly was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ted Butz.
Visitation will be held at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Pine Valley, 1320 E. Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46825, on October 16, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by a Funeral Service at the same location at 12:00 pm.
Polly will be laid to rest at Concordia Cemetery.
Memorial donations in Polly’s name may be made to Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church.
Polly will be lovingly remembered for the life she shared with her family, the adventures she enjoyed with her husband, and the beauty she found in the world.
