Peggy graduated from Whitco High School in 1973. She earned an Associate’s Degree in Secretarial-Legal Technology from Indiana Vocational Technical College in 1983. She worked in the office supply business in the payroll department for many years and concluded her career in the family business as a Register Investment Adviser assistant.
On May 16, 1988, Peggy married Michael L. Henry at Mission of the Bells in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Peggy’s warm spirit was reflected in the life with those she loved and in the quiet, generous ways she cared for family and friends. She found joy in travel—especially out West in California, Colorado, and Europe, including Denmark. For more than 30 years, she made annual family reunion trips to Aspen for skiing, a tradition that spoke to her enduring enthusiasm for the outdoors. She also loved reading novels.
Peggy’s gentle heart was perhaps most evident in the affection she had for her pets. She loved her four cats—Milo, Marlee, Lin-Lin, and Sweet P—and she also rescued rare Heritage breed Anacona ducks: Wye, Tat, Dot, Junior, YoYo, Solo, and Baby, previously on the endangered species list.
Peggy is survived by her spouse, Michael Henry; daughter, Jennifer (Mike) Hammond, of Huntertown; grandchildren, Selina and Jacob; three siblings, Sandra Ruse, Sally (Delmer) Prater, and Jeff (Jessica) Lewis; father-in-law, Robert Henry; brothers and sister in laws, Stephen Henry, of Pasadena, CA, Brian (Lainie) Henry, of Georgia, Mark (Jayne) Henry of IL, David (Soni) Henry, of Florida, Daniel (Brittany) Henry, of IN, Jeanne Henry, of Ft. Wayne, Carol (Greg) Nicoll, of Glendale, CA, and Linda (George) Aldridge, of Ft. Wayne.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marie and Harold Lewis; mother-in-law, Betty J. Henry; and brother-in-laws, Dennis Henry, Larry Ruse, and Rudy Oclaray.
Visitation will be held at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Pine Valley, 1320 E. Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46825, on September 5, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. A Funeral Service will follow at the same location on September 5, 2026, at 1:00 pm. A Graveside Service will take place at Highland Park Cemetery & Mausoleum, 2403 E. Wallen Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46825.
