

Penny H. Manlove, age 77, of Fort Wayne, died of natural causes at 11:00 pm on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at Parkview Randallia Hospital. She was born May 20, 1944 in Elwood, IN to Charlie and Gwen (Walser) London.
Mrs. Manlove moved to the Fort Wayne area in the early 1990s. She had worked as a receptionist at Fort Wayne Toyota for many years. Penny was a past member of Tipton Trinity Wesleyan Church in Tipton, IN and Sonlight Wesleyan Church in Blufton, IN. She deeply loved her family and enjoyed attending the various school events of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved playing cards, bingo, and shopping. She was a compassionate animal lover and was committed to rescuing animals. She was a talented crafter and created many beautifully crocheted items. Penny’s first marriage was to Richard Manlove (d.2018) in 1964. With Richard, she traveled the world as a supportive military spouse, living in Libya, Okinawa and various US bases. After her divorce, she had a longtime companion, Tim Baker, who survives her in Fort Wayne, IN. She was preceded in death by her son Roger A. Manlove of Continental, Ohio in March 2020. She is survived by her son Rob (Martha) Manlove of Roanoke, IN and daughter Rebecca (Preston) DuHamel of Newport News, VA. Surviving grandchildren include Renee (Erich) Hoffer of Virginia Beach, VA, Joshua (Nichelle) Stone of Norfolk, VA, Jennifer DuHamel of Port Huron, MI, Matthew Vorndran of New Haven, IN, Michael (Sarah) DuHamel of Bowling Green, VA, Kendra (Ryan Abbott) Manlove of Fort Wayne, IN, Stephanie Wallace of Knoxville, TN, Garrett Martin of Warsaw, IN, Patrick Gill of Knoxville, TN, Gillian Martin of Roanoke, IN, Brianna Manlove of Spartanburg, SC, Brandi Hager of Whitehouse, OH, and Randy Vickery of Continental, OH and many others who loved her and called her grandma. She was fiercely proud of her 13 great-grandchildren (Haley, Kathryn, Evelyn, Warren, Savanna, Kellen, Jemma, Heidi, Oliver, Penny, Waylon, Wynnona, and Kyran) and a host of nieces and nephews. Also surviving are her dearly loved sister, Barbara (Gerald Boucher) Slayton of Elwood, IN and brother William (Mary) London of Tipton, IN. She was preceded in death by a sister, Dottie (London) Ramsey and two brothers, Charlie (Jr) and Laron London.
Funeral service will be 2 PM, Saturday March, 5, 2022 at D.O. McComb and Sons, Covington Knolls Funeral Home 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN with visitation from 12-2 PM at the funeral home.
