Pete Zilinski, 74 passed away on Friday, February 24, 2023. Born in Salzgitter, Lower Saxony, Germany on November 25, 1948, a son of the late Nikolaus and Klawdija Zielinskyj. After graduating high school he continued his education at Fort Wayne Purdue and Ball State, where he was finishing up his PHD. Pete taught with Fort Wayne Community Schools retiring at 50, which was one of his proudest moments. Another one of his proudest moments was marrying his wife of 50 years, Cindy (Imel) Zilinski. He had a passion for flying Leer Jets. Pete loved working on cars, going to car auctions to get new cars to tinker on and playing tennis. He loved to share his passions by teaching others about small engine repair and electronics. He will forever be remembered as a kind, giving and loving person. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46809 with visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Burial to follow the service at Oak Lawn Cemetery. Contributions in Pete's memory may be made to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
