Phyllis Arline Hicks, 86, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2022, at her home in LaOtto, Indiana, surrounded by family. She was born March 30, 1936 in South Bend, Indiana, the daughter of the late Charles and Ramona Priestley.
On June 11, 1954, Phyllis married Marion Duane Hicks in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was a homemaker and an avid gardener. Her favorite activity was spending time with family, followed by spending time outdoors and fishing. Phyllis was a past member of the Eastern Star, New Haven, Indiana, and the Auburn Moose Lodge.
She is survived by her children, Michael Duane (Nancy R.) Hicks of Payne, OH, William C. (Dr. Heather J.) Hicks of Woodburn, IN, Cynthia E. (Lance R) Kimmel of LaOtto, IN; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Marion Duane Hicks, March 21, 2017.
A funeral service to honor her life will be held at 1:30 pm on Monday, July 18, 2022, at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, with visitation beginning at 11:30 am, 2 hours prior to the service. Phyllis will be laid to rest at Lindenwood Cemetery.
