Phyllis Joan Warner, 91, of Fort Wayne, passed away on July 21, 2026, at Kingston Residence of Fort Wayne. Born November 24, 1934, in Fort Wayne, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Mildred (Uhl) Traster.
Phyllis was an apartment manager at Versailles on the Lake Apartments, from which she retired, and a member of Crescent Avenue United Methodist Church. A fashionable lady, she always had her hair and nails well-kept and stayed current with new products and trends. She was talented in decorating, interior design, and arts/crafts. Phyllis had a passion for dancing and piloting planes with her companion, Larry. Together, they danced at the local VFWs and attended fly-ins at the EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, Wisc., and other fly-in events around the country, until his passing in 2017. She was a member of the Hoosier War Birds located at the Auburn Airport and took several trips with Larry to add additional vintage aircraft to be displayed at the Hoosier War Birds museum. She loved traveling, having visited Greece and Ireland; and enjoyed time at Lake Pleasant. Her other hobbies included attending car shows, gardening, watching sports & NASCAR on T.V., and learning and caring for her birds.
She is survived by her sons, Dale (Christine) Warner of Fort Wayne, Denis Warner of Angola, Ind., Donald (Cheryl) Warner of Hamilton, Ind., and Daniel (Beth) Warner of Angola, Ind.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and brothers, Duane (Sandy) Traster of Ohio and Dean (Carol) Traster of North Carolina. She was also preceded in death by her husband, P. Byron Warner; and her sister, Ann Gephart.
Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Rd., with visitation one hour prior. Inurnment at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne, following the service.
