Quanita Davis was born on August 19, 1964, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to her loving parents, the late Harold and Estell Davis. From an early age, Quan accepted Jesus Christ and was baptized at Greater Christ Temple Church, where her faith journey began.
Quan attended Bunche Elementary, Miami Middle School, and graduated from Wayne High School in 1983. During her teenage years, she was a proud member of the family band, the Davis Quartets, which was led by her father, Harold. Quan’s passion for entertaining was a significant part of her life, and she cherished the memories made during those years.
For nearly 36 years, Quan worked at Woodview Nursing Home, dedicating herself to the care of others. Although her official role was housekeeper, she was much more. Quan's commitment to her residents and her work went above and beyond her duties. She assumed many responsibilities, including the head of nursing, dietician, and activities director. No task was too big or too small for her, and her love for her job and the people she served was evident in everything she did.
Known affectionately as the neighborhood “Candy Lady,” Quan selflessly gave out candy, snacks, and popsicles to the children in her community, spreading joy and kindness to everyone she met. Her generosity and kind spirit made a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Outside of work, Quan found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as fishing with her siblings, dancing, and cleaning. However, her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her three beloved grandchildren. Quan also took great pride in supporting her son at his football games, where her presence was always felt, and her voice could be heard cheering from the stands.
Quan’s legacy will live on through her deep love for her family, her unwavering commitment to others, and the countless lives she touched throughout her life.
Quan departed this life on February 24, 2025, at the age of 60. She was also preceded in death by her grandparents; Levi and Emma Sue Demming and Alphonso and Lena Davis.
Quan leaves to cherish her memory; her son; Brandon (Bri) Davis; Sisters; Everleina (Lawrence) Wattley, Evelyn Brown, Doris Davis, and Vickie Logan; Brothers; Harold (Dorothy) Davis, James (Deb) Davis, Lonnie (Zandra) Davis, Lawrence (Kathy) Davis, Johnny (Jennifer) Davis, and Carnell Franks Sr. grandchildren; Brielle “Tiny”Davis, Brandon “Lil B” Davis Jr, and Braydon “Baby Boy”Davis; nieces, nephews whom she also gave nicknames to and a host of other relatives and friends who will forever remember her kindness, strength, and infectious spirit.
