Ratka Jovevski, 92, passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2026, peacefully at home surrounded by her family in Fort Wayne. Born in S. Slatino, Ohrid, Macedonia, she immigrated to America on December 19, 1972. She worked as a seamstress at St. Joseph Hospital for over 25 years. She was a member of St. Nicholas Eastern Orthodox Church. Ratka had a green thumb for gardening, excelled at baking, crocheting, and most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. She was the ultimate caretaker.
Survivors include her son, Dragan (Jodi) Jovevski of Fort Wayne; daughter, Milena Ivanovic of Portage, IN; grandchildren, Angelina (Ray), Andriana (Carl) , Vido, Joshua (Claire), and Olivia (Julian); and great-grandchildren, Lazar, Alexsandar, Maksim, Violetta, and Juliana.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stojmir Jovevski; son, Jovan Jovevski; granddaughter, Emily Jovevski; several siblings; and son-in-law, Mito Ivanovic.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, August 10 , 2026 at St. Nicholas Eastern Orthodox Church, 3535 Crescent Avenue, with visitation beginning at 9:00 am. Fr. Joshua Coolman officiating. Burial to follow the service at Highland Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Nicholas Eastern Orthodox Church.
