After serving in the US Army Reserves, he began his career in the Real Estate business which lasted over 60 years. He had an exemplary career, was highly respected and loved by all those who worked with him, and developed many lasting relationships. Rawl served his community through his membership on several boards including Pathways, Inc. (a youth crisis center), and the Fort Wayne Charity Horse Show. He was a member of the lzaak Walton League, and the Indiana State Skeet Shooting Assoc. He treasured the friendships he made as member of the American Legion Post 157 in Churubusco, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He served as a firearms instructor for the Allen County Sheriff's Dept. He was an avid pilot and through this love of flying, had the opportunity to meet and have lunch with President Ford and personally tour Air Force One. This was a highlight of his life. Rawl had many passions: He enjoyed bird hunting and watching his beloved bird dogs perform, skeet shooting, and had a love and respect for wildlife. He enjoyed NASCAR races and college basketball. He spent many summers coaching and cheering on his family at horse shows. Each morning he enjoyed reading the morning paper, and having breakfast and coffee with his many friends. He lived life to the fullest, and on his own terms. Above all, he loved his family, and friends beyond measure. He will truly be missed by us all.
