R. Keith Greathouse passed away on May 10, 2023, at his beautiful home on Big Long Lake. Keith was born on February 17, 1937, in Bedford, Indiana. Keith was the ultimate family man, never waning in his devotion to his lovely wife and daughters. Keith met the love of his life, Jean, during their college years. They were married on September 19, 1959, in Columbus, Indiana. Keith and Jean were lovingly married for 51 years, until Jean's death on October 31, 2010. They were blessed with their two precious daughters, Kristi in 1964 and Janie in 1967.
Keith's passion for and knowledge of sports was well known. He was a talented athlete, a respected coach, and an avid fan. Keith was a life-long New York Yankees fan, and closely followed the Indianapolis Colts, Indiana basketball, and Woodlan High School athletics and, of course, his beloved Notre Dame football.
Surviving to cherish his memories are his daughters, Kristi (Steven) Quick of Fishers, Indiana and Janie (Mark) Fransen, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; nieces, Kelley Morris-Adair and Kim Morris, both of Indianapolis, Candace Schooley of The Villages, Florida; and nephews, Jeffrey Morris of Columbus, Indiana; and Alan Greathouse of Indianapolis. Keith also leaves behind his "adopted" family, Kelley Ginther, Michael Ginther, Jared Ginther, and Devin Gilliam.
In addition to his wife Jean, Keith was preceded in death by his parents, William G. Greathouse and Mary F. Yaney Greathouse; brothers Dean and Edgar Greathouse; and sister, O'Reta Schooley.
Keith will be greatly missed by so many...all of whom are grateful and honored to have known him and fortunate enough to have "Greaty" in their lives.
