Raymond R. Watkins, 88, of Fort Wayne passed away Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at Dupont Hospital, Fort Wayne. Raymond was born in Scenery Hill, Pennsylvania on August 24, 1932. He came to Fort Wayne to attend Purdue University and later complete the General Electric Apprentice School and the Manufacturing Management Program. Raymond retired from G.E. with 42 years of service as Plant Manager for the Hermetic Motor Division. He was a past member of the G.E. Quarter Century Club, Elfun Society, Port Charlotte Promenaders Square Dance Club, and was currently a member of the Fort Wayne Artists Guild. In addition to family and friends, Raymond enjoyed winters in Port Charlotte, Florida, painting, photography, model trains, cars, exercise, and square dancing. Raymond is survived by his wife of 66 years, Virginia (Vosburgh) Watkins; brothers Gerald, Delbert and Donald Watkins; his children, Michael (Gail) Watkins, Dennis Watkins, Cynthia (James) Feasel, Eric (Jackie) Watkins; 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Elva Fremont Watkins and Emma (Barnhart) Watkins; brothers, Fremont Watkins, Jr. and Clifford Watkins; and sisters, Edith Hanson, Phyllis Kinder, and Geraldine Bedillion. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 9, 2021 at D.O. McCombs & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Rd. Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour prior.
