Rex B. Burden, 88, passed away Friday, May 25, 2018 in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, Rex graduated from Fort Wayne Central High school and attended Indiana Institute of Technology. Rex worked for NCR for 18 years and was the owner of Burden Business Machines for 25 years. He served honorably in the United States Marine Corp. He loved the family cottage at Lake James where he enjoyed boating and fishing. He also enjoyed traveling with his family. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Phyllis (Hall) Burden of Fort Wayne; son, Jeff B. (Linnet) Burden of Chicago, IL; daughter, Lisa K. Burden of Fort Wayne; son, Kerry M. Burden of Denver, CO; and granddaughter, Asia Burden of Fort Wayne. Rex was preceded in death by three sisters, Rachel Chapman, Lois McNett, and Mildred Lucas; and two brothers, Harry Burden and Carl Leroy Burden; father, Melvin Edgar Burden; and mother, Georgia M. Burden. Service is 1:00 pm, Thursday, May 31, 2018 at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road with Pastor Mike Eavey officiating. Calling at D.O.
