Richard Wayne Bendele, 74, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025. He was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on November 27, 1950, son of the late Fred and Betty (Voorhies) Bendele. Richard always stayed busy, especially his landscaping. He was the simple man who enjoyed bonfires, spending time with family and friends and a cold refreshment. Richard enjoyed listening to Elvis, Alan Jackson, and Jimmy Buffett Margaritaville.
He is survived by his wife, Diana Bendele; daughters, Jessica Tuffs and Melissa (Sai) Phounsavath; grandchildren, Alicia (Pone) Xayyachack, James Deleon, Brenden, Kaeden, and Siann Pho; great-grandchildren, Sophia Orellana, Junior Xay, and Santiago Deleon; and sister, Carol Zent. Richard was also preceded in passing by his sister, Phyllis Adams.
A celebration of life for Richard will be held from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 917 West Jefferson Boulevard, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46802. Contributions in Richard's memory may be made to the Shepherd's House.
