RICHARD I. BLOSSOM JR., 90, passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2017, at Parkview Hospital. Born Dec. 6, 1926, in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late Richard I. Blossom Sr. and Ruth R. (Flick) Blossom. He served our country during World War II and the Korean War in the Merchant Marines. He was the owner of the Blossom Carpet & Furniture Cleaners for many years. He enjoyed waterskiing at several of the area lakes on the weekends. Dick is survived by his son, Rick (Barb) Blossom; daughter, Janet (Gary) Willig; six grandchildren; three great- grandchildren; and a brother, George J. Blossom of Indianapolis, formerly of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in passing by his wife, Sallie Jean (Stewart) Blossom; brothers, Richard "Flick", Donald M. and Robert J. Blossom. A Memorial service will be held at Heartland Church of Fort Wayne at 7:00 pm on Friday, March 24, 2017, with calling from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Preferred memorials may be made to Heartland Church of Fort Wayne, 1025 Vance Ave., Fort Wayne or Parkview Hospital.
