He graduated from Leo High School and then later graduated from Taylor University. Richard enjoyed fishing, painting and being around his family and friends. He owned Boyce Decorating in Fort Wayne and Lebanon, TN.
He was an Army Veteran and served in the Vietnam War. He was a proud member of the American Legion Post 409, in Leo, IN and DAV local 40, and was a life member.
Richard married his wife Gretchen, April 1994, in Gatlinburg, TN. She survives.
He is survived by his son, David Boyce; daughters, Jill Wallace, of New Haven, IN and Kelly Weaver Boyce, of Fort Wayne, IN; brothers, Robert Boyce, of Lebanon, TN, and William Boyce, of FL; 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Betty Boyce; and brother, Charles “Butch” Boyce.
