Born in Jersey City, he was the son of the late Dominic and Marie De Tommaso. Richard had lived in Bridgewater, NJ before moving to Fort Wayne, IN 27 years ago.
He served in the United States Army Reserves. Richard was Director of Operations for the Aerospace Division of ITT and retired in 2010.
He was a member of the American Legion, NRA, Fort Wayne Hamm Radio Club, Skywarn spotter and Net Control. He was a devoted family man.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Pamela; his daughter Rebecca and her husband, John Caldwell of Scottsdale; his daughter, Amy Derk and her husband, Robert Derk of Savannah; his daughter Jennifer and her husband, Christopher Spurgeon; his sister, Deborah Andronici and her husband John of Branchburg; Richard was preceded in death by his brother Fred De Tommaso. He had eight cherished grandchildren, Evan, Grant, Chase, Tyler, Bailey, Gavin, Jack and Jett and adored great grandson Weston.
A private Celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society.
