Richard “Dick” A. Strole, 87, passed away on July 26, 2023, in Fort Wayne, IN. Dick was born in Fort Wayne to Clarence and Fern Strole. He went to Southside High School and then served in the United States Army. He went on to work as a television and radio technician at Wayneland-Davis TV, Ernie Martin, HJS Sound Equipment in New Haven, and then retired from Fort Wayne Community Schools after 17 years. Survivors include his loving wife, Ruth, of 59 years (60 on September 1st); sons, David (Dawn) Strole of Fort Wayne and Steven (Tracy) Strole of Fort Wayne; daughters, Barbara (Daniel) Bradtmiller of Huntertown, IN and Rebecca (Marcus) Tholen of Fort Wayne, IN; nine grandchildren, Ashley Land, Danielle (Andrew) Spencer, Zachary Strole, Dustin (Linh) Bradtmiller, Jason Strole, Jacob Strole, Corey Strole, Noah Tholen, and Madilyn Tholen; and one great-granddaughter, Addyson. Dick was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Mary (Jerry) Shenfeld. A Funeral service will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Lincolnshire Church of the Brethren, 6404 South Calhoun Street, Fort Wayne with visitation beginning at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family's preferred memorials are Lincolnshire Church of the Brethren or Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
