

Richard C. “Dick” Hornberger, 89, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday April 6, 2013, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. A native of Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Carl M. and Myrtle (Kinerk) Hornberger, a 1941 graduate of South Side High School, he proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps. He was employed with Indland Oil Company as an Oil Jobber. A member of Trinity English Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne, he was also a member of the Waynedale Masonic Lodge # 739, a past-president of the Southside Kiwanis Club, and past president of the Allen County Society for Crippled Children.
He is survived by his children, Carl Hornberger, of Kendallville, and Pam (Bill) Hohlbein, of Greenfield; two grandchildren, Caryl and Troy Hornberger; two great grandchildren, Sophia and Zonnen Hornberger, three brothers, Jack and Tom Hornberger, both of Fort Wayne and Jim (Terri) Hornberger, of SD and care giver, Gwen. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Muriel E. (David) Hornberger, in 2011. Memorial Service is 4:00 pm Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Klaehn, Fahl and Melton Winchester Rd.
