Richard “Rick” Kaylor, 61, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home in Fort Wayne. He was born in Fort Wayne to the late Donald and Rosemary (Caccamo) Kaylor. He was a graduate of Paul Harding High School and served honorably in the United States Army and Reserves as drill sergeant. Rick worked for the Allen County Highway Department for 34 years as a mechanic and truck driver, retiring in 2013. He proudly served as a volunteer fireman on the New Haven Adams Township Fire Department for 36 years, joining in 1982 and recently received a retirement plaque for his service. He was also the current president of the Adams Township Advisory Council and was a board member of the New Haven Adams Township governing body for Fire and EMS. Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Patricia G. “Pat” Kaylor; daughter, Christina (Brandon) Shramek; grandchildren, Amelia and Caiden Shramek; granddoggy, McKinzi; siblings, Steve Kaylor, Dave (Trudy) Kaylor, and Linda Bercot; and several nieces and nephews. Rick was also preceded in death by his brothers, Mark Kaylor and Michael Kaylor; and parents. Funeral service 9:00 am, Monday, December 24, 2018 at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls with Chaplain Firefighter Father Dale A. Bauman officiating with an hour visitation prior to the service. Calling 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Sunday, December 23, 2018 at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls with an IVFA service at 7:30 pm. Burial in Glenwood Cemetery, Roanoke, IN.
