Richard graduated from high school in Lima. Rick loved NASCAR, Star Trek, and working on small engines at Marks Garden Shoppe. He worked there for many years as a mechanic with many certifications. Richard also enjoyed assembling model cars from Matco and Snap-on. When he was no longer able to work due to treatments, he would put together and paint model cars.
Richard is survived by his children, Debby (Vance) Pruden and Richard H. (Bethany) Mann IV, both of Fort Wayne. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Clarence (22), Gabriel (17), Xander (15), Wyatt (8), Raeanne (17), Riley (16), and Nevaeh (14), all from Fort Wayne; as well as his sister, Tina (Tony) Ward of Rocky Mount, NC. He was preceded in death by both of his parents; a sister, Debra Susan; and two granddaughters, Allyssa and Heather Pruden.
A memorial service to honor Richard's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 16, 2022, at Lincolnshire Church of the Brethren, 6404 South Calhoun Street, Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour prior. The Rev. Dr. Paul Thomas and his wife Rev. Dr. Cheryl Thomas will be officiating. Additionally, a visitation will take place on Thursday, September 15, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, also at the church.
