Dick loved fishing and watching his grandkids playing sports. He enjoyed being outside and tinkering around the house. He was a Chicago Cubs and Indianapolis Colts fan. Dick truly enjoyed his time in Florida and being in the sunshine.
He was a very proud Army Veteran and member of the 101st Airborne. He also was a proud member of Fort Wayne Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union 166, for 71 years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn Moon; daughters, Candy (Harold “Hal” D. Jr.) Bauer, Cathy (Ken) Wiseman; siblings, Carol Jean (Keith) Hardin, Bette Jo Jarvis, Judy (Joe) Spring; grandchildren, Jessica Bauer, Kyle Bauer, Megan Wiseman, Carisa (Jared) Turpen; great-grandchildren, Madison Turpen, Alivia (Livi) Turpen, Uriah Turpen, Simeon Turpen and Emma Turpen; and many nieces and nephews.
Dick was preceded in passing by a brother, Larry Hartman; brother-in-law, Mark Jarvis; and sister-in-law, Marsha Hartman.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm, at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Pine Valley, 1320 E. Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46825. A Funeral Service will be on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at 1:00 pm, with visitation one hour prior to the service at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Pine Valley, 1320 E. Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46825, with burial to follow at Leo Cemetery.
