

Richard Max Parker, 92, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away Thursday, January 30, 2025. He was born May 23, 1932, to Paul C. and Gladys (Ormiston) Parker. After graduating from Central High School, Richard joined the Navy, being honorably discharged in November 1952. He also served in the Army, being honorably discharged in November 1960. He retired from Tuthill Fillrite in 2003 at the age of 70. During his lifetime he bravely served in the Korean War, was a devoted husband and father, and known for his hard-working nature, and quiet, humble demeanor. He enjoyed fishing, looking at old cars, collecting coins and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul C Parker and Gladys Ormiston Parker, wife, Rita Parker, siblings Bonnie Doswell, Mary Childers, Charles Parker and his twin brother who passed at childbirth. He is survived by two sons, Samuel (Cathy) Parker, Paul Parker, sister, Susan (Hans) Derkatsch, grandchildren Kaleb (Carlee Crace) Parker and Brooke Parker, and great grandson Hayes Parker. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46804. Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Greenlawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park following the service with military honors.
