RICHARD A. SILVERS, 92, passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2016. Born April 15, 1924, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Everett and Minnie Silvers. Richard retired from Slater Steel with over 44 years of service, and was a member of United Steel Workers Local 14, American Legion Post 82, and V.F.W. Post 857. He is survived by son, Donald Silvers; daughter, Joy Steiss; grandchildren, Tabitha, Shawna, Jason, Aaron, and Alissa; and one great-grandchild. Funeral service is 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home 1327 N. Wells St., with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2016, at the funeral home. Burial at Highland Park Cemetery.
