Richard B. Sobczak, 93, of Fort Wayne, passed away August 20, 2026. Born on March 30, 1933 in South Bend, Indiana, he was the oldest son of the late Anthony C. and Lillian H. (Kajzer) Sobczak and a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Fort Wayne. Dick served honorably in the US Army for two years 1953-1955. Dick spent his final years at Lutheran Life Villages at Pine Valley Asst Living. He LOVED all the Staff and Caregivers that always served him with warm hearts & smiles. Their impact on US ALL cannot be measured. THANK YOU! He is survived by his sons, Robert (Tammy) Sobczak and John (Amy) Sobczak; daughter-in-law, Dr. Kimberly Lansdowne; grandchildren, Adam (Tricia Harvey) Sobczak , Ashleigh (Andrew) Wood, Benjamin (Amara) Sobczak, Abigail (Jason) Marshall, Riley (Brandon Curry) Sobczak and Alison (Michael) Holbrook; six great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Thomas (Gloria) Piekarski; sisters-in-law, Marcia Piekarski, Rita Sobczak and Lori Sobczak; as well as many nieces and nephews. Dick was also preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Christine Anne (Piekarski) Sobczak; son, Donald A Sobczak; brothers, Kenneth and Gerald Sobczak; and brothers-in-law, Daniel (Dorothy) and Richard Piekarski. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Highland Park Cemetery (Chapel of Chimes) 2403 East Wallen Road Fort Wayne, Indiana 46825. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be given to masses at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Fort Wayne or the Veterans Association of your choice. "GLAD YOU SAW ME"
