Rita Marie Strack

October 23, 1928March 30, 2021

Rita Marie Margaret (Beckman) Strack, 92, won her Victory Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at home with family at her side. Born to Joseph and Alma (Sorg) Beckman of rural Hoagland Oct 23, 1928, she attended St. Joseph Hessen Cassel school and graduated from Hoagland High School. She married Godfrey F. “Cap” Strack, February 12, 1949. She was an avid reader especially European history, and enjoyed opera, TV shows Jeopardy, Twilight Zone and Alfred Hitchcock. Lost to us for the time being is her instant recall of kinships in extended families of her mother and father. Mysteriously, she possessed an unfailing love for her husband and children. She is survived by sons, Greg (Irene) Strack of Hoagland, Paul (Melanie) Strack of Monroeville, Tim (Insuk) Strack of New Jersey, Jeff “Ozzy” (Becky) Strack, Decatur, Andy (Yvonne) Strack, Kendallville, and Joe (Shelby) Strack of Fort Wayne; daughters, Eileen (Danny, deceased) Hoskins of Fort Wayne, Carolyn (John) Spenn of Fort Wayne, Margaret Meyer of Fort Wayne, Beth (Tim) Sensibaugh of Fort Wayne, and Jane (Scott) Beerman of Coldwater, MI. Also surviving is her brother, John F. Beckman, Sr.; sister, Odelia (Tom, deceased) Malott; 35 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Robert Beckman (died in childhood), Walter Beckman, Wilbert (Cy) Beckman, Gerald Beckman, and Charles Beckman; and granddaughters, Heather Bender and Teresa Strack. Special thanks to Leah and Elois Hospice. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at 1:30 PM at St. Joseph Hessen Cassel Catholic Church, 11337 Old Decatur Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46816 with visitation one hour prior. I don't think there is a finer testimony to a person's life than the Family, memories, and love they leave with us once they are gone. Mrs. Strack has left a fine legacy and one that is shared by the world. I take comfort knowing she was welcomed in Heaven by my Dad and is now sharing a lawn chair, some BBQ chicken, great memories, stories, and perhaps a Pabst Blue Ribbon with him. Rest well Rita, a life fully shared and lived, an example to us all (the BEST testimony), and well-earned/deserved resting in Heaven with God.

My very sincere condolences for all the Strack family. Our families have been interwoven for 35+ years. During all of that time I have held Mrs Strack in the highest regard. Her peaceful demeanor and unwavering love for her family have been my benchmark for my own family. Needless to say I didn’t even come close but what a goal to try to achieve! My deepest sympathy to each and every one of Strack family ❤️
