Rita Mae Stump

Rita Mae (nee Sordelet) Stump, 97, of Fort Wayne, died at 9:45am, on July 13, 2021. Born on August 3, 1923, in Fort Wayne, she was a daughter of the late, Louis and Henrietta (nee Brake) Sordelet. She was a member of St Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Fort Wayne, and enjoyed knitting, reading, sewing (even men’s suits), painting (was a member of the Artist Guild of Fort Wayne), IU basketball, and BINGO. She is survived by her son, James (Jeanne) Stump, and their children, Michael, David, Juliana, Elisa, and Keith; son, John (Denise), and their children, Louis, and Charles; son, Kenneth, and his children, Jason, and Jesse; son, Donald, deceased, (Cheryle), and their children, Adam, and Jodie; daughter, Mary (Dennis) Andrews, and their children, Paul, Lisa, and Renee; son, Andrew, and his children, Jenny, Donald, and Sarah; as well as 22 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Elgain Stump, in 1995; and son, John Stump; and grandson Joseph Stump. Funeral service will be 1:30pm, Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior to service. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorial donations may be given to St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Fort Wayne.
