Robert Charles Bastian

Bob was a 1959 graduate of Jefferson High School in Lafayette. He enlisted in the Marine Corps and was honorably discharged after 31 years of service, at the highest enlisted rank of Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps (E-9). Bob worked at Supreme Farmstead and Clay Equipment and then co-owned and operated a number of local businesses with his wife, Delores, including Waterbed Experience, Furniture Experience, Baby and Bunk Gallery, and Christmas Fantasy. In his later years he sold real estate as RCB Realty and was well known around town. Towards the end of his life, he found comfort in the compassionate care of Kingston at Dupont Assisted Living Memory Care.

Surviving Bob are his children, Cynthia "Cindy" Garman, David Bastian, Lora (Lawrence) Schnurr; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Delores Marie (Swim) Bastian; son, Robert “Robbie” Duane Bastian (1986); parents, Ralph (1944) and Mildred Bastian (1995); and infant sister, Phyllis Ann (1939).
