Obituary of Robert "Bob" Joseph Dick
Robert "Bob" Joseph Dick, 89, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at North Woods Village. He was born March 23, 1932 in Adams County, son of the late Albert and Virgil (Andrews) Dick. Bob was a graduate of Adams Central High School, Fort Wayne International Business College and a U. S. Army Veteran, serving during the Korean War, where he earned the rank of Corporal, stationed at Kimpo Air Base from 1953-1954. He worked as an auditor for the State of Indiana Internal Revenue Service and was an avid homebuilder. Bob had a servant’s heart and worked diligently in many aspects at Waynedale United Methodist Church and Preschool, as well as serving as a very active past president for Elmhurst Little League. He was instrumental in securing the land and building the Mason Drive ball fields for Elmhurst Little League in the early 1980’s. He cherished his time with his family and being with the grandkids always brought a smile to his face. Surviving are his wife, Carol Walker Dick of Fort Wayne; children, Debra (Kirk) Rodgers of Angola, Ron (Joni) Dick of Fort Wayne, Jim (Kim) Dick of Pleasant Hill, CA, Kirk (Jenni) Walker and Christine (Jeff) Clark, both of Fort Wayne; 15 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, sister, Mary (Jerry) Bean of Anderson, and brother, Roger (Arlene) Dick of Florida. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Arlene Dick in 1999; and eight siblings. Funeral service will be held Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 2:30 PM at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, 6424 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46819 with visitation starting at 1:00 PM. Burial will be at St. Luke Cemetery, Adams County, IN. Contributions in Bob's memory may be made to Waynedale United Methodist Church Preschool.
