Robert B. Diffenderfer, age 75, of Auburn, IN, passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Auburn Village. Robert was born on February 2, 1943 in Indiana to Bruce and Bethel (Miner) Diffenderfer. He graduated from Petroleum High School. Robert served his country honorably with the United States Marines during the Vietnam War. On August 19, 1966, he married Irene Cummins in Burnettsville, IN. He retired in 1999 from Holland Motor Freight. Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, and tinkering in his workshop. He loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Irene Diffenderfer of Auburn, children; Robert (Julea) Diffenderfer of Kendallville, Brad Diffenderfer (Rick Melcher) of Syracuse, Stacy (Greg) Gause of Fort Wayne, grandchildren; Mason Diffenderfer, Ryan Gause, Mya Diffenderfer, Jason Gause, and Mitchel Diffenderfer. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Dennis Diffenderfer and Arlene Clester. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 3-7pm at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park, 1320 East Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46825. Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 1pm with calling one hour prior from 12-1pm at D.O.
