Robert Emerson Fisher

Robert Emerson Fisher, age 76, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Monday, September 25, 2023. Robert was a native of Fort Wayne, born December 28, 1946, the son of the late Emerson and Janet (nee. Zollner) Fisher; grandson of the late Theodore and Margaret Zollner and nephew, of Fred Zollner, founders of Zollner Pistons aka Detroit Pistons. He was a graduate of South Side High School and later received his Master's in Journalism. He was also a poet, author, speech writer, mentor, friend and chaplain to many. "Rob" as he was known, was a great husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather that loved his family dearly. He enjoyed cooking, hiking, writing, reading and smoking his pipe. He also loved to be in Northern Michigan at his cabin. We will always cherish his love of baking cookies, hiking, rock hunting and especially, spending time with his grandkids. Rob is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 33 years, Kaye Fisher; a son and daughter, Christian and Kenzy Fisher of the home; and daughter, Melinda Wallen; grandchildren, Courtney Morgan, Cayla Morgan, Lucas Bobay and Cyle Wallen and several great-grandchildren; and canine friend, JJ. He was also preceded in death by a son, Keith Combs and grandsons, Ian and Justin Wallen. A Celebration of Life Service will be 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at D.O. McComb and Sons Funeral Homes - Covington Knolls 8523 Covington Rd. (46804) with visitation an hour prior to service. Rob will be laid to rest in Lindenwood Cemetery.
