Robert W. Freiburger

Robert W. Freiburger, 89, was called home on Thursday, October 16, 2014. Born February 27, 1925, he was a son of the late Eugene and Julia (Schenkel) Freiburger. He graduated from Lafayette Central High School in 1943 as valedictorian. Bob was a dedicated farmer for many years and was also employed by Bowmar Instrument Corporation in the model shop. He was a very active member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church. He was the beloved husband of the late Helen C. (Christman) Freiburger for 67 years; a loving father of Eugene (Margaret) Freiburger, Patricia (Tim) Springer, James (Mary "Kay") Freiburger, Robert J. (Kim) Freiburger, and Rita (James) Conroy. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and brother, Richard Freiburger. He was also preceded in passing by his brothers, Gerald and Thomas Freiburger. Mass of Christian Burial is 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 14623 Bluffton Road, Yoder. Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, October 20, 2014, at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m. Burial in St. Aloysius Catholic Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Masses or St. Aloysius Catholic Church parish.
