Great man. High School classmate. Enjoyed seeing & visiting with him at his home. RIP Bob.

Bob and Donna have set a new standard of married love to many and my life has been richly impacted in the short time I knew them.

Their loving, servant hearts were deep & their exhibition to others of their devotion to each other so profound-it could make the coldest heart want to “take the plunge” again in marriage.

My life has been impacted forever by their care towards me-the hands and feet of my Jesus, and the example of marriage and how wonderful it can and should be.

They have touched more hearts than they will ever know!

Bob was a great friend and all around great guy. He is missed by his many friends, and certainly, his entire family. I shared a  love of old cars, especially the Nash Metropolitan, & also a high school connection with him.

I  only knew Bob briefly, but the short time I knew him, his light shined liked none other ‘! I remember his smile, his laugh, the way he looked at his beautiful bride, Donna🙏💗, God blessed me by introducing me to him & Donna, and I will treasure that forever, friends likes them are very rare, and I thank you Bob, for showing me your kind heart, & your love of humankind,especially our veterans 🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🙏you will never be forgotten my dear friend ❤️❤️🙏🙏

Bob was a dear family member.  He not only loved his own children, but he loved and was committed to his step children and new family with Donna. He was genuinely interested in us and became part of our family. Bob helped Donna take care of daddy, sacrificing his own discomfort to make our dad more comfortable.  Bob showed his love and care toward us. 

Bob had a servants heart with the seniors he transported faithfully every week to church in the handicap accessible van.  He used to call us weekly to check on Margaret Pitts to arrange for her rides. She always looked forward to Bob’s caring and compassionate heart towards the people he ministered to.

Bob was a wonderful husband to my sister Donna. There has never been a phone call that she didn’t comment “I love him so much, he is the kindest man.”  I am so grateful that Bob was a part of our family. 

Bob gave of his talents and time! He was a volunteer at First Assembly of Ft Wayne. Serving as a greeter, but also as the Director of the Senior busing ministry for many years.  The busing volunteers pick up disabled seniors for the weekly Thursday luncheon as well as the Sunday morning service. Bob had a faithful group of three other men serving with him - Stan Goff, Rich White and Tom Brindle. Recently there was a dinner honoring these men. 

Bob Harris was the faithful one. You always knew he was where he said he would be. 
He was caring, steady, loving, giving, hopeful...so faithful- a man of God.
He would see a need and be there if possible to help. I went with him one time( he regularily picked up extra bread for the seniors at church) to Costco and loaded up the van. He faithfully drove to pick up elderly for church. Who does that anymore? He really cared about others for God's Kingdom.
He was a delight here on earth and I imagine is now a joy in heaven, too.
To sum up our Dear Bob I have this powerful line from Donna his wife. She said, "I didnt know that marriage could be this wonderful!"
He brought sweetness wherever he was. 
This life is short and now we are brokenhearted to have lost him on earth. But then soon we will see our Wonderful Savior OurLord Jesus and our loved ones...
Bob will be there waiting at the gate!! 

In the few years that I met and new Bob, he brought joy to my life.  He was so humerous and was always positive about everything.  I admired him how he handled going through the struggles he faced and always was pleasant and kind to everyone around him.  I feel blessed and grateful for having the privilege of getting to know Bob and have him be part of my life.

Bob had an infectious sense of FUN! He made Donna’s days light with his love and laughter. One particular occasion, for a couple’s retreat, they dressed up as “Sonny and Cher”.  They sang a rousing rendition of “I’ve got you, Babe” and brought down the house! Thank you Bob for sharing your light heart and laughter! 

Bob was a kind friend to my daddy, Bill Douglas. They enjoyed a weekly golfing outing as well as a men’s bible study together.  Thru these bible studies, Bob grew in his love for the Lord and his Faith was strengthened.  Bob was a friend who was always ready to help, with a bright smile and kind word. Your friendly spirit will be greatly missed, dear Bob. 

Bob and Donna had fun dressing in “couples” outfits. They complimented each other frequently.  Bob, thank you for surprising us every time we saw you! Love from Esther

Bob had the most wonderful smile. He made one feel wanted and he loved with his whole big generous heart.  He was a get-her-done kind of man and thankfully he knew what he was doing.  He was wise and kind, strong and brave, and so beloved. He fought the good fight and we miss him more than words can speak, though the many tears tell their own sweet story.  I have the privilege of being Bob's last daughter, come fully grown, and so blessed to share the gift of his great love for my mother and how it flowed as joy into our family. He didn't know it but he helped heal my heart, and now heavy with this way too soon good-bye.  I love you, Bob, forever.  With the most grateful heart, Tonya 

One of my favorite memories of Bob was from his wedding day. Bob sang a sweet love song to Donna. We visited with Donna and Bob later, and they would sing to each other daily.  What an idea! What a precious expression of his love on a daily basis. 

Bob had a fun sense of humor. Donna and Bob attended a fancy “dress up” dinner, but, they didn’t get a picture. On the way home he suggested that the get their pic taken at a convenience store that does passport photos. What a nut! I loved his sense of humor! Miss you, dear Bob! Sister in law. Esther

Bob was a dear friend of my husband, Tom & I & said he  considered us as some of his best friends.  He was a brother in Christ.  Tom drove bus for Bob & the Senior Ministry @  Fort Wayne First Assembly of God. We sat with him & his wife, Claire often @ the Senior Lunch/Program @ the Church.  We enjoyed attending Christian Theatre together as a foursome.  After Claire's passing, we met Donna, & she too became our friend. They later gave us tickets  to an event in OH they could no longer attend due to her Mother's death.  It was Tom & I's last anniversary together.  After Tom passed, Bob encouraged me to go to Grief Share also @ the church & said he had benefited from.  Later, he put me in touch with Community Care @ the church to help me w/ home repair.  I imagine that Tom & Bob are now  together once again, laughing & joking in heaven.  Thanks Bob, for all the memories & always being positive, encouraging & fun...along with your wives, Claire & Donna.  

Like Dave, I remember Bob first as a dear friend of my dad, Bill Douglas. He and dad shared golf outings on a weekly basis. They also shared a weekly men’s bible study. Thru the years, Bob also volunteered at the Vet Home. During those years he helped one of the older vets build a wood working shop and a garden. Bob gave his time and himself to the ministry of the Vet Home, where he helped Donna. 
Two and a half short years ago, Bob married Donna at the Vet Home, sharing that day with both family and the veterans they serve. One of my fondest memories is their wedding ceremony. Bob sang a tender, loving song to Donna. It was a transparent demonstration of his deep love and commitment to My sister Donna.  I was deeply impacted by Bob’s commitment to daily Bible devotions with Donna.  This daily devotion and prayer time built up their faith foundation.  One of the favorite devotion books was Psalm 91- Gods plan of protection.  What a great reminder of Gods loving care for us. 
During the early part of 2020, Bob was diagnosed with cancer.  Their prayer group surrounded them in prayer. Thru many trials, God brought them thru cancer diagnosis after cancer diagnosis.  Bob and Donna kept focused on Jesus.  I greatly admire Bobs forethought and planning during this past year.  Dear Bob, You are an inspiration to our family! A loving and devoted husband, father, friend and committed follower of Our Lord and SAVIOR Jesus Christ.  We join you in singing around the throne “HOLY! HOLY! HOLY! Is the Lord God Almighty! Who was and IS, and IS to come!” We love you, miss you, and look forward to the day we see you in heaven. Love Esther and Dave. 

Bob was always so friendly and welcoming at the Ridge.  I am so sorry for your loss Donna.  You are in my prayers.


We, Kay and I,  met Bob at my father's house in Ft. Wayne visiting from Colorado.  He was a great friend to my dad and mom.  We heard stories about his having a big heart for the folks who needed help getting to church and home.  He worked in that ministry for years.   We did notice that Bob seemed to be hanging around the folks home at the same time my sister Donna woud typically be also visiting.  Next thing we hear in Colorado is they were dating.  Soon the wedding happened and we witnessed an amazing union between them.  We had the pleasure of hosting them in our home when they brought my dad for a visit.  Kay and I knew for sure, they were meant to be together.  Bob was a great brother-in-law, a great husband to Donna, had a heart to serve others, a great father and a great friend to my father.  We miss him greatly.  Go with God, Bob.  

I will always remember Bob's smile. He would walk into our home or into church and his smile would light up the room!  We will always love you Bob.

My husband Shaun was very touched this summer Bob gave him a model of a Dana semi. Shaun collects models. Shaun kept saying Bob didn't have to do that.

We love Bob and Donna very much.

We have been so blessed to share prayer nights with Bob and Donna. Bob was so warm and hospitable in his welcoming all of us into their home. His love for God and all of us will definitely be our greatest memory of such a fine gentleman. I have no doubt he will be welcoming us again with open arms when we enter into our final home. 

So sorry to hear of Bob's passing. I knew him well, we worked together at Dana. He was a good Christian and will be missed by many. 

My beautiful grandma and handsome grandpa, so thankful you all were able to be there for so much of our lives but wishing we could make more memories

Bob also had 2 sisters (Cynthia Roe & Cheryl Austin) and a brother (me Douglas Harris), who loved our big brother very much & will miss him terribly.
