Robert Kiefer

Robert W. “Bob” Kiefer, 82, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2011 in Fort Wayne. He was born in Ossian on June 12, 1928 to the late Henry and Clara (Koeneman) Kiefer. He married Rita (Leis) Kiefer on September 11, 1949. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Mr. Kiefer spent 11 years working at the U.S. Rubber Compnay and 25 years at the former International Harvester truck production plant in Ft. Wayne. Since retiring he spent his winters in Las Vegas and summers in Ft. Wayne with his wife. Bob had been able to work through significant health issues over the past 28 years. He is also survived by two children, Carolyn (Mike) McMaken of Harlan and Robert (Carol) Kiefer of Auburn, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren, a brother, Arnold (Sheila) Kiefer of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 7819 Decatur Rd., Ft. Wayne with calling one hour prior. Visitation will also be from 4-6 PM on Friday, April 22, 2011 at Elzey Patterson Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Rd., Ft. Wayne. Memorials can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens.
