I have known Roger since first grade, at School 85, and then School 62 and Howe High School in Indianapolis. Roger was a quiet student, very bright, and always had a smile on his face. As part of the “Rankineers”, a gifted class we shared with the same students from grades 5-8, Roger was a loyal friend, driving to Indy from Ft. Wayne for our reunions. He obviously loved God, his family, and his country, and I am certain he is at Jesus’ feet now! Many prayers to Charlie and the family for comfort now and in the days to come. Until we meet again, friend…

We met Roger many years ago when our mom started working with him and Kim. I remember many wonderful things about him, and the best memories I have are that he was a true friend to my mom. Roger was always so kind to our family, and when we got to meet Charlie and Pam, we could see why family was so important to him. Salt of the Earth people. He always asked Mom how my dad and sister and I were doing, and Mom always shared how his family was doing as well. I also remember a lot of laughter with Roger, even with the stories being shared second-hand. The one that to this day makes me smile every time I think of it is that Mom, Kim, and Roger were in the car and I don’t know how it happened, but somehow a lit cigarette ended up in Roger’s lap. He was trying to find it while it was burning a hole in his pants. My mom was laughing so hard she was crying when she told us about it. Charlie and family, I wish you all the best memories and that they bring you comfort. I know that Roger is always by your side.
Sincerely,
Dani (Trosvig) Witzigreuter

Roger lived a full and rich life. He was gone to soon, but touched so many during his time here.

49 years may seem a long time to be together, but I wish it had been longer. We were soulmates and best friends. He will be with me always.

His wife,
Carolyn "Charlie" McNeill
