Rosaura was born on December 4, 1963, in San Juan, Jalisco, Mexico. In 1980, she migrated to Los Angeles, California, where she would build a life full of love, resilience, and unwavering faith. She married the love of her life, Taire Vizcarra. Rosaura became a widow in 1995 after the passing of her husband, and despite life’s hardships, she stood strong and poured her heart into raising her three young daughters.
In 2002, Rosaura proudly became a U.S. citizen after years of studying and preparation – a moment she held close with great pride. Throughout her life, Rosaura held leadership roles in both factory and restaurant settings. She was known for her work ethic, dignity, and pride in everything she did.
Rosaura’s life was centered on faith, family, and love. She was a devoted follower of Christ and worshiped Him until her very last breath. She prayed for the sick, believed in the power of prayer, and led her family by spiritual example.
She found great joy in gardening (her green thumb was unmatched) and in singing. Her karaoke mic and speaker were never far from reach. Rosaura loved to dress up, shop, and enjoy the little things in life. She often said, “Antes muerta que sencilla” – “I'd rather be dead than simple.”
More than anything, Rosaura loved her family. She helped raise her grandchildren with boundless love and energy, and her presence was a constant source of comfort, guidance, and laughter. She continued to mother her daughters with tenderness and strength until the very end. She adored her many nieces and nephews, and was the glue that held generations together.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Taire Vizcarra (1995); her infant son, Julio (1985); and her siblings Jesus and Sylvia.
She is survived by her loving mother, Maria Juana Contreras; her three devoted daughters:
• Dioselina (Selina) Vizcarra-Ramírez and son-in-law Marcial Ramírez, and their children Joshua (10) and Elijah (6)
• Marilyn Vizcarra-Sincler and son-in-law Marco Sincler Sr., and their children Marco Jr. (15), Julio Taire (10), and Rosalynn (7)
• Karen Phoumala and son-in-law Nathan Phoumala, and their children Leonardo (10) and Rafael (4)
She is also survived by her beloved siblings: Petra, Maria Teresa, Jose Trinidad, Juan Jose, Imelda “Melly”, Maria Elena, Rosa, and Luis Carlos; and many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Rosaura’s memory lives on through the generations she helped raise and the love she gave so freely. As her grandchildren said:
“We didn’t just lose our grandmother – we lost a mom.”
And in the words of her daughters:
“We lost our best friend, mentor, chef, foundation – our mom.”
