Rose Marie Pemberton, 85, of Syracuse, IN, passed away Monday, February 21, 2022 at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home of Fort Wayne, IN. She was born July 22, 1936 in Fort Wayne, IN., and was the daughter of the late Irvin L. and Lillian Schlotterback.
Rose was a telephone operator at GTE and later Verizon for 13 years, retiring in 1989. Rose was a member of the Tippecanoe Twp. Homemaker Club and the Purdue Alumni. She was loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family. Rose is survived by her children, Juliann (David) Ward of Fort Wayne, Donald (Cindy Lewis) Perrey of Columbia City, IN, David (Dawn) Pemberton of Smyrna, TN; 4 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Pemberton; and a brother, Jack Schlotterback.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 7710 E. State Blvd., Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also take place from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, February 28, 2022, at D.O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road Fort Wayne, IN. Private burial at Covington Memorial Cemetery.
