Obituary of Rosemarie C. Mannes
Rosemarie C. Mannes, 86, lost her courageous battle to MS after 57 years on March 17, 2018. She was born in Wilhelmswalde, Germany on December 22, 1931, the daughter of the late Hans and Auguste Dyck. Rosemarie worked at Platka Export as an administrative assistant in Fort Wayne, IN until she was diagnosed with MS. In her earlier years she enjoyed ice skating and dancing. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church of Arcola, and the Fort Wayne Sports Club. Her hobbies included playing Rummikube, Euchre, and she loved watching The Price is Right and Wheel of Fortune. Surviving are her loving husband of 61 years, Stefan Mannes; children, Doris (Mike) Derheimer, Cindy (Bob) Trahin, and H. Peter (Joanne) Mannes; grandchildren, Luke and Emma Derheimer, John and Rachel (Tony Ranek) Trahin, Amanda (Eric) Mueller, Carly (Tom) Fisher, Jack Mannes, and Wil Mannes; brothers, Hans Dyck of Shreveport, LA, and Wilfried Dyck of Luneburg, Germany. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10AM on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at St. Patrick Catholic Church Arcola, 12305 Arcola Rd., Fort Wayne, IN 46818, with calling 1 hour prior. Visitation will be held from 3-7PM Friday, March 23, 2018 at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Rd., Fort Wayne, IN 46804 with a rosary service at 6:30pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, Visiting Nurses of Fort Wayne, or to the Masses at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church Arcola. Burial will take place at Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne, IN. The family would like to extend a special thank you for the compassionate care Rosemarie received from the staff at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home of Fort Wayne, IN.
