Rosemary Dawson

ROSEMARY A. DAWSON, 84, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010. Born June 3, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Bernice and Clarence Carteaux. A 1944 graduate of Central Catholic High School, she worked at Wayne Knitting Mills. She married James W. "Bill" Dawson in 1946; he preceded her in death in 1995. She then worked at Crows Haven Nursing Home until it closed. She was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church, where she volunteered as the school secretary while her children attended school there. "She was the loving mother of eight children. We feel her loss very deeply." Surviving are son, Tom (Wendy) Dawson; daughters, Roseanne Dawson, Teri (Roger Lindley) Dawson, Elizabeth "Becky" Melchi, Cindy (Rick) Barton, Sue Dawson, Mary (Don) Peaks, and Paula (Les) Blauvelt; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grand children; brothers, Richard (Allene) Carteaux of Athens, Ga. and Tom (Gail) Carteaux of Cloud Croft, N.M.; brother-in-law, Robert Genovesi of Haddon Heights, N.J.; and six nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Phyllis Genovesi and Betty Carteaux; and nephew, Thomas Carteaux Jr. A Catholic Mass celebrating her life is noon Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010, at St. Therese Catholic Church where the family will receive friends two hours prior. Interment procession immediately following mass to the Catholic Cemetery. Memorials to the St. Therese Rosary Society or League for the Blind & Disabled.
