Rubbie was born to Robbie and Herbert Holliday in Como, Mississippi. She retired from the VA Medical Center as a medical technician, and previously worked in the healthcare field as a CNA for many years.
She was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Her attendance was faithful until her illness.
Rubbie enjoyed cooking big family meals on holidays. Her signature sweet potato pies were always a big hit. She made the best breads and biscuits ever. If you missed out on it, so sorry for your loss.
Her favorite pastime was reading mystery novels, the Bible, and everything placed within her sight. She encouraged everyone to stay in school and get an education. She was extremely proud of the children that she helped, supported and raised and was a mentor to their future success.
She leaves behind two sons, Isaac and Justin; two daughters, Miranda and Brandy; one brother Marvin (Bethany); and sisters Hattie Roberson, Deloice, Yvonne, Barbara, Sandy, Geraldine, and Susan; and a host of nieces and nephews; family, friends and loved ones.
Preceding her in death were her son, Rocko; her parents, Robbie and Herbert Holiday; sister Diann; and brother Gene Kelly Blake.
Visitation will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, 2313 S Hanna St, Fort Wayne, IN 46803, US, on September 23, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by the Funeral Service at the same location, on September 23, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
