Ruby Palmer, 78, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. She was born in Garrett, Indiana on December 14, 1946, daughter of the late Mervin and Bessie (Guillum) Spencer. The light of Ruby's life was her grandchildren. She enjoyed lunches with her long-time friends, playing bingo, and shopping. Many hours were spent watching and feeding the birds, ducks, and squirrels in her backyard. She was a member of the Southwest Conservation Club for many years. Ruby retired from Avery Dennison. She is survived by her children, Julie (Don) Jeffrey, Jamie Storm, Jim (Maria) Geyer, and Jane (Paul) Sieber; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in passing by her husband, Lester Palmer; long-time partner, Jim Geyer; and great-grandson, Dylan Tanner. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road Fort Wayne, Indiana 46809 with visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Burial to follow the service at Prairie Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the ASPCA, Southwest Conservation Club or Cancer Services of Northeastern Indiana.
