After graduating from Tattnall Industrial high school in Reidsville, GA, Rudolph proudly served in the United States Army from 1964 to 1967. His service included time with the 101st and 82nd Airborne, and he was awarded the Purple Heart—an enduring testament to his sacrifice and courage. Following his military service, he attended Indiana Tech University and earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
Rudolph devoted 39 years to what was originally GE Aircraft Engine controls, later Lockheed Martin and BAE, retiring after decades of loyal service. He held many important roles within manufacturing, including Component Engineer.
Above all, Rudolph was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He loved fishing and was an avid bowler, pursuits that reflected his appreciation for simple pleasures and time well spent.
Rudolph is survived by his loving wife, Beatrice Sharpe; his sons, Chris Sharpe and Amondo (Erin) Hopkins; his grandchildren, Aiden Sampsel, Maisley Sharpe, Jordan Hopkins, Olivia Hopkins, and Skylar Hopkins; his siblings, Billy Sharpe, Yvonne Sharpe, and Catherine Sharpe; and his godchildren, Brandon Hernandez, Jazmyn Hernandez, and Breeaughn Hernandez.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jonathan and Lillie Sharpe.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Maplewood Park, 4017 Maplecrest Rd, Fort Wayne, IN, with visitation beginning two hours prior. Rudolph will be laid to rest at Lindenwood Cemetery, 2324 West Main Street, Fort Wayne, IN.
Memorial contributions in Rudolph's memory may be directed toward Riley's Kids, or the Ronald McDonald house.
