Ruth Ann Doctor

Ruth Ann Doctor, age 79, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025. She was born May 23, 1945 to Oscar and Leona Lambert. Ruth graduated from Fairview High School in 1963 and married George Doctor on April 10, 1964. Ruth and George were married for 56 years until his death in 2020.

Ruth loved to work in her flower garden. She loved her roses and dahlias and her back yard paid tribute to her love of flowers as it was full of her colorful blossoms and handiwork. She was counted upon to make floral arrangement for every occasion. She treasured her children and family and even took her love of kids a step further when she started her child caring business out of her home. Ruth as well was employed in construction and on a horse farm during her working years. Ruth was known for the creative cards that she would send because she would decorate the outside of the envelope with drawings and sayings, because her penmanship was flawless. She was a very proud Mom, Grandmother, and Great-Grandma.

Her memory will be cherished by her children, Robert (Sonda) Doctor of St Joe, Indiana, James (Karen) Doctor, Brownsburg, Indiana, Tina Doctor, Fort Wayne, Indiana, Gerry (Treva) Doctor, Harlan, Indiana and Connie Telemaque, Fort Wayne, Indiana; grandchildren; Katie Watson, Tabitha (Jordan) Sprunger, Micala Husk, Jessica Doctor, Kyle Doctor, Ethan Doctor, Mason Doctor Luke Doctor and Reginald (Victoria) Telemaque; and great-grandchildren, Alexis Watson, Dillingher Watson, Dawson Sprunger, Brixsyn Sprunger, Myles Husk, and Wrenley Telemaque.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Doctor; parents; and two brothers, Lavon Lambert and Larry Lambert.

A funeral service will be held Monday, January 27, 2025 at 1:00 pm at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes – Maplewood Park, 4017 Maplecrest Rd, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46815. Family and friends will also be received January 27, 2025 for visitation, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
