

RUTH ANNA EVA McNAMARA, 100, went to be with our Lord, because "Heaven is my home," on Friday, July 24, 2015, at Lutheran Life Villages. Born in Fort Wayne, Ruth worked as a secretary with the City of Gastonia North Carolina and retired. She was also a nurses aid at Gaston Memorial Hospital. In her earlier years, she was a member of the Ladies Aid at St. Paul Lutheran Church and Holy Cross. Surviving are sons, David A. (Paula) McNamara of St. Charles, Ill., John McNamara of Fort Wayne and James McNamara of Las Vegas, Nev.; daughters, Mary Ann (Bob) Thomas - Ross and Joyce McNamara, both of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Daniel Thomas, Jennifer R. (Iaio) Parker, Kelly (Jeremy) Everett, Casey McNamara, and Megan McNamara; her step-grandchildren, Adriane, Joshua, Jacob, Brandon, and Sarah Tschannon, she loved as her own; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Everett, Nicholas and Rilee Parker and Jackson Thomas; brother, Edward (Fran) Hartman of Fort Wayne; and special friends, Carol Carter and Jorja Byrd. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gottlieb E. and Anna (Schneider) Hartman; husband, Roderick G. McNamara; and brothers, Paul, Harold and Carl Hartman. Funeral service is 2 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2015, at Lutheran Life Villages Memorial Chapel, 6701 S. Anthony Blvd., with calling one hour prior. Pastor Mike Wakeland and Pastor Gary Green officiating.
