Ruth V. Sims

RUTH V. SIMS, 88, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2016, at Wood-view Health Care Center, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, Ruth worked as a packer with ITT for 22 years, retiring in 1992. She was a member of Martini Lutheran Church. Ruth loved to fish and spend time at their cottage on Fish Lake, go shopping and visit with friends. Her passion was her family. Surviving are her son, Robert (Karen) Sims of LaOtto, Ind.; daughters, Vickie (Dan) Grimes of Fort Wayne and Debra (Phil) Clark of Huntertown, Ind.; grandchildren, Kimmy, Laura, Kelly, Jason, Gary, and Kevin; great-grandchildren, Chelesa, Andrew, Piper Ann, Gaige, Arianna and Parker; and great-great- grandchildren, Knox, Anna and Alice. She was preceded in death by husband, Sherman T. Sims; parents, Elmer and Velma Tester; grandson, Daniel Grimes; brothers, Art, Francis, Charles, and Raymond Tester; half brothers, Howard Lyman and Howard Laflin; and sisters, Bonnie Hampshire, Helen Bower, Evelyn Bowers, and Irene Tester. Service is 10 a.m. Thursday, March 10, 2016, at Martini Lutheran Church, 333 E. Moeller Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Research or the Kidney Foundation.
