Ruth E Smith

Ruth E. Smith, 95, of Fort Wayne, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Sage Bluff Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church since 1950, working and serving in many various capacities. She was also a member of Chapter AO, P. E. O. Sisterhood along with serving and working with many local organizations. Surviving are her son, William (Mary) Watson of Wichita, Kansas; daughter, Ruth (Becki Hullinger) Watson of Ann Arbor, Michigan; daughter in law, Linda Watson of Roswell, Georgia; daughter, Sharon (Steve) Pierce of Zionsville, Indiana; sons, Leigh (Debbi) Smith of Fort Wayne and Leslie (Marla Boatwright) Smith of Muncie, Indiana; sister, Helen Hill of Fort Wayne; brother, David (Lucy) Ellison of Fort Wayne; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen J. Smith; sons, Thomas Watson, Jr., James Watson, and Randall Smith; brothers, Paul Ellison and Robert Ellison; and grandson Ian Watson McDermott. Funeral will be Friday, January 5, 2018 at 1:30 PM at Plymouth Congregational Church 501 West Berry Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46803. Visitation will be Thursday, January 4, 2018 from 3 to 7 PM at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46804. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Plymouth Congregational Church.
