Born May 5th, 1997, Ryan was a bright, curious boy eager to explore the world. Growing up, he was very athletic and had a natural talent for most sports, but he enjoyed basketball and soccer the most. Intelligent, driven, and creative, he was a direct admit to the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. Beyond his academic achievements, he was known for being loving, funny, and deeply caring. His sense of humor, warmth, and ability to connect with others left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Ryan loved the outdoors- camping, kayaking, or simply relaxing in his hammock; nature brought him a sense of peace. He cherished his dogs greatly. He had a calm demeanor, a dry yet sharp sense of humor, and gave the warmest hugs. He had an ever-present thirst for knowledge. A lifelong learner and deep thinker, he enjoyed exploring the reasons behind things, and always had some unique bit of information to share.
Ryan struggled with his mental health for the past several years. He fought courageously every day to not let his struggles define him, and we are so proud of him for that. Ryan’s life had value, and he mattered. His purpose was to share his strength, sensitivity, and love with others. Although we are devastated by his loss, we can find peace in knowing that he is smiling down at us from Heaven, perfectly happy and healthy.
He is survived by his parents, sister, dogs and all other family and friends who love him dearly.
May Ryan rest in peace knowing how deeply he is loved.
