

Sarah “Sally” Pesetsky, 84, died peacefully on May 11, 2023 from the natural progression of Lewy Bodies Dementia. She was born in 1938 and raised in Chillicothe, Ohio. Sally was an outgoing lively presence in every setting who loved entertaining, travel, and the arts. Sally earned degrees from Northwestern University and University of Michigan. While attending Northwestern University, Sally toured the world performing with with the USO. After graduating, she settled in Jackson, Michigan in 1961 to teach English. While performing with the Jackson Civic Theatre she met her husband of over 50 years, Dr. Fred Pesetsky. She performed in a variety of strong female roles throughout her acting career. Sally was a vital part of Jackson, Michigan for many decades. From her performances in dance and theater, her work as a dance and movement therapist, and her involvement with the Michigan Dance Association: she touched many lives. Sally moved to Fort Wayne in 2018 to be closer to family. She became involved in the dance community, enjoyed local artists, and continued to travel. She lived her last two years in Northwoods Village Memory Care where she enjoyed their kind and skilled support. Sally is preceded by her husband Fred and survived by her daughter, Anna (Andy) Pesetsky Fugate; her grandson, Alec (Jordan) Fugate; and brother, Fritz (Theo) Haynes.
