It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shari Konger, who brought warmth and joy to the lives of all that knew her. After battling for almost five years against pancreatic cancer, Shari passed away on November 5, 2025.
Shari was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished daughter, sister, and grandmother. She was married to the love of her life, Brian Konger, for 26 wonderful years.
She was born and raised Catholic. This foundation of community and belief shaped her kind spirit throughout her life.
Shari’s greatest joy was found in her family, especially spending time with her grandsons and attending all their activities. She was their biggest cheerleader, and her infectious enthusiasm will be deeply missed.
She had a vibrant spirit and loved to travel, with her favorite destinations including the sunny beaches and amusement parks of Florida, the excitement of Las Vegas, and relaxing cruises. Shari was also a regular at sporting events and concerts, always ready for an outing filled with fun and laughter.
Shari was very proud of her 37 years at Indiana Michigan Power. During her career she was able to graduate from college and convinced her “hubby” to join her at Indiana Wesleyan University.
Shari is survived by her devoted husband, Brian Konger, and her loving children, Nikki (Chris) Martz, and Jason (Kelly) Block; and grandchildren, Cole and Graham Martz. She is also survived by her parents, Randy and Jan Bandor; and her siblings, who shared countless memories with her: Cathy (Don) Lutz, Ron (Rhonda) Bandor, Tom (Susan) Bandor, and Patty (Kevin) Brundige. Shari is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Shari will be remembered as a loving Wife, Mom, and Grandma that would do anything for her family.
